This petroleum bitumen is generously applied as multiple thick layers on the entire open surface of the terrace structure. Bitumen is thick yet viscous and has good sticky properties. Its sticky solution is liked by many for waterproofing roofs and terraces in Goa. Additional waterproofing additives are added to enhance its waterproofing qualities. Using a blast of fire or pre heating the bitumen at a specific temperature makes the solution fluid and flexible to apply on huge terrace surfaces. Bitumen is not the best solution as UV Sunlight daily reduces its effectiveness in the long run.
2. Waterproofing terraces by liquid deck method.
Liquid deck utilizes a hydrophobic liquid mixed and strengthened
with glass to produce a waterproof veneer on the terrace surface. The glass liquid
membrane coating is highly fluid, flexible, cost-effective, and can be utilized
on wide variety of surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, and bitumen. Major issue
is that for this liquid deck method to be successful, it requires many multiple
coatings and applications to ensure good water proofing results.
3. Terrace waterproofing
with Acrylic-based roof waterproofing coats.
Acrylic waterproofing coats can be accurately used with a paint roller brush. Acrylic coats offer high tensile strength; Ultra Violet Sun rays resistance, and prevents the growth of mold and fungus. Acrylic ready-made coats come with pre choice of colors and shades introducing a dash of color to your terrace surface.
